What is Foot Misalignment?
Alignment is based on how the axes of the bone line up. When the bones do not line up properly, misalignment occurs due to the extra stress put on the outer parts of the joint. This puts added pressure on the ligaments which weakens joints.
Common foot misalignments include: flat feet which can produce pain in the arch and lower leg, pronation where the arch of the foot flattens, and supination where the foot rolls outwards. Achilles tendonitis and Plantar fasciitis can result.
